[declined] Thovar, Protection Paladin
Character information
Character Name: Thovar
Armory link: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/ravencrest/thovar/simple
Primary Talent Spec: Protection
Secondary Talent Spec (If any): AoE Tanking. Not much different, a difference of 3 points and different glyphs. The offspecc gear is not good at all so that's why I have 2 Prot speccs.
Do you have any alts you would like to join the guild? Please mention if you would like to raid on more than one character.
Perhaps Talassa, a hunter. It's really an alt, but I did raid on her in the past.
Personal information
Age: 18
Nationality: Dutch
Your Time Zone: GMT+1
When are you usually online? Pretty much when I am not busy working at or for school. And when I am not working which is on Friday and Saturday night. Ofcourse I sometimes have other things to do IRL, but I mostly spend my free time on WoW.
We raid from 19:30-23:30PM (server time) on Wednesday/Thursday and Sunday nights. Does that fit your schedule? Fits like a gloves perfect starting and ending times!
Your PC/internet
Is your connection stable? Yes.
Do you have "Ventrilo" and a working microphone and are willing to speak? (Cataclysm will have a lot of boss fights where communication seems to be the key) Yes, I do.
Do you use a Blizzard Authenticator? No I do not, as far as I know they do not ship to Holland.
About you and raid experience
What add-ons do you currently use for raids? A lot. I use GRID to show the raid. SUF for my and the target (and some more) for the Character Frames. SBF for my buffs and debuffs. Omni CC to show my CDs. Recount for the DPS and healing done. MovableHolyPower for my Power Bar. Sexymap for the minimap. Bartender for the action bars. Omen for the threat meter and ofcourse DBM.
What is your raid experience including all Vanilla, BC & WotLK raids. Name the class and spec you played for each one if different to your current Main character.
During Vanilla I played on a different account on a Hunter. I raided the following: full MC and ZG. 1st boss in AQ20 and 1st in BWL. During TBC I was very inactive and mostly PvPing, also on a Hunter, I played a lock a little too and raided the following: Kara 8 or 9bosses. Downed everything besides the dragons in there.
During WOTLK I was on this account on my Paladin. I raided Naxx fully, Ulduar up and including Yogg phase 2. TOC10 5/5, TOGC 5/5. ICC10 12/12 and ICC10HC around 11/12. Havent done Blood Council, Sindragosa and the Lich King. I did Halion 10man on my Hunter, everything else on my Paladin. I have done some normals on my Hunter but nothing more than the Paladin. Malygos 10man and Sartharion (3Drakes also) were also downed.
I also have done some 25man but those were mostly PUGs, I was and am a 10man raider.
Previous guilds and reasons for leaving them?
I had formed 2 guilds myself which in the end were disbanded. I also was in Open Your Eyes on Executus (EU) for a period, a dutch guild where I did ICC10 HC. I didn't feel very welcome nor did I want to raid anymore, it was piss easy, so I went on a break and got kicked. I also was in Eclipse for a short period of time, but the guild didn't work out, there was a huge slack and fail factor. After that I migrated to Ravencrest since I know some people.
About you and your view on you class and World of Warcraft
Why did you choose your class/spec? After I got a new account I wanted to try something different. Paladin always intrigued my and I did a 'what class are you' kinda quiz, hehe. I went Protection 'cause I like to lead stuff and hate it when, for instance, the tank is very slow. I also went Prot at the time to level easier (AoEing and stuff) and haven't been everything else. I was Ret for a short period of time while leveling, but nothing serious. I have tried Holy and Ret, but I lack the focus for healing and can't seem to get Ret right, this was months ago though.
What is your view on progress raids? Love them. They are the most challenging, fun and yet the most annoying. In the end these reward a player the most, not just by loot, but also by the feeling of accomplishment.
What is your view on farm raids in periods where there is nothing to progress on? Well I feel it's nowadays more fun. It might get boring after a while, but atleast you're still busy raiding and you can gear up (new) members this way, which is always nice. Due to achievements and stuff the bosses on farm can be challenging again.
What do you think about raid related achievements? Very challenging. After a while the normal mode gets too easy or boring so the achievements spice things up a little, very nice.

Thanks in advance!
